From Zac

I wasn't the kid everyone was talking about.

“I wasn't a 50-goal scorer or a top prospect. I was a 14th-round OHL draft pick and a 6th-round NHL draft pick.”Zac Rinaldo

I made the NHL anyway. Not because I woke up one day with more talent than everyone else. My path was built on consistency, resilience, and a willingness to do the hard things that help teams win.

That's what I coach now. Not skating, not shooting. The stuff that actually decided my career and will have a lot to say about your kid's: how they handle a bad game, whether they can take coaching, what they do when nobody's watching.

Round 14 is named after my OHL draft round. It's there so I don't forget where they said I'd stay, and so your kid knows exactly who they're talking to.

The method

The 5 Controllables

These are the five things I coach, because they're the five things a kid can actually control. None of them need talent. All of them get noticed.

How it works

Four weeks. Ten kids. Real work.

One live call a week

Your kid is on a video call with me and the rest of the group once a week, for four weeks. I cap it at ten kids because I want to know every one of them by name, not run a webinar.

One rep a week

After every call your kid gets one thing to go do off the ice and write down themselves. Watch a period the way a coach watches it. Ask their own coach for one piece of real feedback. It doesn't get graded and the other kids never see it. That's the point.

One-on-one time with me

Partway through, I talk to every kid one on one. I get to know the person before the athlete. You're told the time in advance and you're welcome to sit in.

A mark that gets earned

Kids who do the reps all four weeks earn the Round 14 mark. It doesn't go to the most talented kid in the group. It goes to the ones who did the work, and any kid who puts it in can get there.

You're welcome on any call, including the one-on-one. And near the end I'll send you a note about your kid. What I actually saw, in my own words, not a form letter.

Straight answers

What this is, and what it isn't

Is this skills training?

No. There are good skills coaches everywhere and your kid should have one. I coach the other part: habits, coachability, mindset, compete level. The part that decided my career, and the part nobody's teaching your kid right now.

Will this get my kid a roster spot?

I can't promise that, and I won't. Anybody who promises your kid a roster spot is selling you something. What I can promise is four weeks of real attention on the five things your kid actually controls. What they do with that is theirs.

Is this therapy or counselling?

No. I'm a coach and this is coaching. If anything ever genuinely worries me about your kid beyond hockey, I'll contact you right away. That's in writing in the consent form.

The founding run

First run. Founding price.

$97 CAD per player

This is the first public run of Round 14, and the price says so. The ten founding families get the full program for a fraction of what it'll cost later. In return I want your honest feedback every week, because it shapes what this becomes. That's the trade.

The start date is being locked now. Request a spot and we'll confirm the date with you directly before you pay anything.

The boring but important part: I hold a current vulnerable sector check before any session runs, every family signs a plain-English consent form first, and nothing your kid says or writes in the program is ever used publicly without your separate written permission. The full details are in our Program Terms and Privacy Notice.

Ten spots. Players age 13 to 16.

Email us your kid's age and what's going on with their hockey right now. You'll get a straight answer about whether this is a fit, not a sales pitch.
