Round 14 Privacy Notice
How Round 14 collects, uses, and protects information across the quiz, email list, and live programs. Version 2, July 10, 2026.
Who this covers
This notice applies to anyone who interacts with Round 14: a parent who takes the quiz on the website, a parent or player who joins the email list, and a family enrolled in a live program. It works alongside, not instead of, the Round 14 Participation Consent and the Round 14 Photo, Video and Likeness Release, which cover the specific permissions needed to run a program.
Who is responsible
Round 14 is operated in partnership by Zac Rinaldo and Daniel Debattista in Ontario, Canada. Daniel Debattista is responsible for privacy at Round 14. Any question or request in this notice goes to hello@round14hockey.com.
What we collect
- From the quiz: the parent's first name and email, and the player's first name and age range.
- From the email list: the parent's first name and email, and whatever the parent replies with directly.
- From a live program: the player's first name and age, the parent or guardian's name, email, and phone, an emergency contact, the player's own weekly Log entries, and recordings of live sessions where a call is recorded.
We do not collect more than this. We do not ask for a player's school, address, or any government ID.
Why we collect it
- To send the quiz result and the email sequence a parent signed up for.
- To run the program: scheduling calls, the personal check-in, and reviewing Log entries.
- To reach a parent or emergency contact if something comes up during a live session.
- To review recorded sessions for program quality and the safety of the players on the call.
Who sees it
Zac and Daniel see what's needed to run the program. We use outside tools to send emails, take payment, and host the program (for example an email platform, Stripe, and a video call tool), and those tools can see what's needed to do their job. We do not sell information, and we do not share a player's name, photo, Log entries, or recordings with any third party for advertising.
Some of the tools we rely on, such as Google and our email platform, store information on servers outside Canada, usually in the United States. Wherever it sits, it gets the same care from us, but it can also be subject to the laws of the country where it is stored.
The website and the quiz
The quiz and website do not run advertising trackers. If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we will update this notice first.
Round 14 does not serve children under 13
Round 14 is built for players age 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect information from, or about, a child under 13, and the quiz, email list, and programs are not meant for use by or on behalf of anyone younger. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
Quiz and email list information is kept while a parent stays subscribed, and deleted within a reasonable period after an unsubscribe request. Program information, including Log entries and any recordings, is kept for the length of the program plus 12 months, then deleted, unless a parent asks us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
- You can ask what information we have about your child or yourself.
- You can ask us to correct or delete it at any time.
- You can unsubscribe from the email list at any time using the link in any email.
- Asking us to delete information does not affect your child's current spot in a program already underway, but we will stop using it for anything beyond running that program.
How we protect it
We store information in tools with restricted access, not in public links or shared spreadsheets anyone can open. We do not keep more information than the program needs, and we review what we're storing periodically rather than keeping everything indefinitely by default.
If information is ever lost, stolen, or accessed without permission in a way that could cause real harm, we will notify the affected families and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as the law requires.
Changes to this notice
If how we collect or use information changes in a meaningful way, we will update this notice and let our email list know.
